there is sound and subtitles (when enabled) but the video is completely dark.

I have gotten it to work under Linux. I have the opposite at the moment. I got the cut scenes but no audio.
I just got the game running entirely (Almost Gold)
So if you can try to post some settings or something I can see what I can do.
that would be great.
my setup is: Crossover Games 8.0, Snow Leopard, 2 year-old MacBook Pro.
Running the Steam version at 1280x800 with low details, no anti-aliasing, and high textures.
Sound is an easy fix,
Go to /Users/%yourusernamehere%/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Settings
There should be a DragonAge.ini file in there
Open that in TextEdit
Now scroll down till you find the option:
SoundDisabled=1
If it says 1 then just change it to 0 and sound should work! If it already says 0? well your problem is something else.
This worked for me anyway, there are a number of options in that file that can help (especially if you goofed some setting up and it's crashing on startup)
One other note however is that at least the intro video is in .bik format, Bink video.
I tried installing it from the installers here: http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm (within the bottle)
No such luck, anyone else give it a whack and see if there's a way to get it to work?
same here, audio and subtitles but no video whatsoever. running on a mac. also, the character models don't appear correctly...
Anyone get this working?
the only video not working for me outta the box is the intro when the game loads...
