Runs perfectly but has random crashes

I'm running this game on a Spring 2011 MBP with i7 2.3 and 8 gigs of ram.

The game runs perfectly at max graphic settings, even when I set the resolution to 2560 x 1440 and play on my 27 inch ACD.

The problem I run into is random crashing. The game will play perfectly for 5-10 minutes at a time and then crossover games simply crashes. I have to reopen crossover games and relaunch each time. I haven't been able to narrow the crashing to a particular event in game. Like I said, sometimes I play for as short as 3 minutes and other times I can go somewhere around 10. I've slowly been making progress through the game but it is getting annoying.

Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this issue? I really want to get this game working without having to resort to bootcamp.

I'm using the steam version of Doom 3 if it matters.

I would first try reducing the graphics settings and resolution. I generally run my games at my native screen resolution. Even if the game "runs perfectly" at max graphics, it might be causing the crash.

Generally, I also run a log to see what's causing the crash.

In the Crossover Games menu, go to programs and select "run program". Select the bottle where Doom 3 is, and then browse to the exe for the game. Check the box to run a log, and then click at the bottom of the window to run the program. It'll ask you where you want to save the log.

I have a folder in my documents folder that I named "crossover logs" just to keep all my logs together.

After the program crashes, look at the log using text-edit or a similar program. Look for errors.

I'm writing this from memory, so if something doesn't make sense or you don't understand or I've got something wrong here, just reply back and I'll try to be more accurate.

Thanks for the reply!

I've tried several different graphics settings and resolutions with the same result. I even went down to low graphics settings with the lowest resolution (640 x 480 I think) and the game still crashed.

I'll try out logging the game sessions and let you know the result.
