The dolphin emulator CAN be compiled on mac and linux (see guides at http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu). however, the mac version is not worked on very much by the devs and therefore is slow and hardly functional. (this may be true for the linux version too, someone should probably go and verify that) the emulator with the openGL plugin runs at a reasonable speed under crossover games. i would NOT recommend the DX9 plugin. all that has done is freeze the whole bottle. also, it is not worked on as much as the openGL plugin. (see app decription)

Hello there, no matter the developers were sometimes abandoned Mac as a great potential platform for gaming we've got some substitutes like a Dolphin. There is the only one has left behind it is ability to run games properly that exactly as it is provided by original wii/gc consoles. Thus I has tried my still favorite Zelda: Wind waker and 4 swords adventure there are both of them won't work smoothly. I even would not mention that in fact the entire information regarding to Dolphin and plugins most of all is encrypted and it might takes a whole night or two to spend for dogging web for it then. So my solution is severe it is pretty raw and worst to play. Would you like to have a headache for a something outdated and glitch as well at your desktop? C'mmon be sober :) There are games upcoming for Mac natively although the alternate solution is quite simple: go next store and buy some wii/gc/gba or whatever and good bunch of cartriges/dvd's for them. Good luck!

I've been having trouble with getting the controls to work. Using rev 3972 32bit, no "Pad" or "Wiimote" plugins show up in the application in the config menu. They are however in the plugins folder of the dolphin folder. Any suggestions for getting some working plugins?

dolphin is as a side project to it's developers. obviously, since it is emulating recent systems, the emulation will be crude. as for actually buying the systems, the audience for this emulator would be people who don't have the money to spend on something like that, or only want to dabble in it lightly. it doesnt matter what native games are coming for mac since it likely wont (and here's the kicker, wont ever) become a gaming platform. cxgames is as good as it gets for mac since linux is obviously the superior operating system.
