I cannot access dxdiag on both DX9 and DX Modern. I've tried installing each of them in a fresh bottle using the list in Install Windows Software.
Here's a debug log for dxdiag: http://paste.ubuntu.com/601706/

Hi,
The dxdiag program isn't really of any immediate use to us in wine/crossover,
for the most part due to disparities in the driver layers...ie; dxdiag is expecting
to see windows sound/video drivers, replete with all bells&whistles. This is not
what is presented to the app from wine/cxwine...ie; my HD5670 video card on the Mac
often turns up as an Ati 3200, and that said, all video drivers are equal which it
comes to consider our platforms...that is, Mac, linux, *bsd and such...another example
would be I have 100's of apps running in Crossover that dxdiag says won't run =)
There is a WineHQ for dxdiag, and I do recall seeing some howto about somewhere on
how to make it run, but like I say, it doesn't prove very much as the results it
obtains are often meaningless...see;

Cheers!
Ok, no big deal. I don't really want it. I'm just trying to work out why DirectX isn't working properly, if at all, for the games I've tried so far.
Company of Heroes complains that DX is not installed altogether, even if CrossOver reports that DX9 or DX Modern is installed.
Dark Crusade and Soulstorm run but many textures do not render correctly. Dark Crusade is far worse.

There is never anything in 'c:/windows/system32/DirectX'.
