Digiguide not updating

I've managed to install Digiguide under Crossover and it all seems to be fine, except that it stalls when it attempts to update the TV listings. The 'Checking for updates' window appears, but the red activity dot doesn't move and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I've tried reinstalling Digiguide/IE6 etc, but I keep getting stuck at this point. I've managed to manually copy the updates from my Windows PC and Digiguide otherwise works perfectly, but I'd be really grateful for any suggestions on how to fix this. Many thanks in advance.

I cannot get DigiGuide (8.3) to run under Crossover. It appears to install OK, and runs OK for configuration at the end of installation so it does work. However, if I close it down and try to restart it I get this error:

DigiGuide.exe caused a EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module digiguide.dll at 0023:101B0CD8, png_set_IHDR()+312 byte(s)

Did you do anything special to get it to install?

The good news is that I can get DigiGuide to run almost perfectly in a standard wine installation (wine 0.9.44). Updating of the TV listings works fine if started from the 'File' dropdown or using F5, but the Auto-Update feature does not kick off to update the listings automatically.

Seeing similar here. I had to manually launch Digiguide during the installation process as it wouldn't seem to launch properly. I did this from the C: drive.

After installation, the program won't launch from the Crossover/Applications menu, but it runs perfectly if I navigate to the C: drive and run the executable from there. As others have noted, it still fails to update.

Has anyone made any progress with this since the last postings above?

Cheers,

Tom

I have installed it here also on Ubuntu 8.10, encountered the problem with the links from the menu but it starts from the console just fine.

Copying user settings file (uprof) from windows installation to the appropriate directory in the bottle also went without a hitch.

The software update seems to work alright as well, I was able to update listings and software components via the update functionality totalling over 4mb without ill effects. The software even restarted properly to complete the installation
