Anyone else have this issue? It gets stuck there 80% of the time for me and needs to be hard killed. 20% of the time it eventually gets unstuck and proceeds normally.

For future reference, I think this was due to having FSR turned on. Turned it off and the issue stopped happening. ✌️
I've been having this too, thanks for posting. Have you been able to get into the season 7 PTR? So far freezes 100% of the time so haven't been able to try the FSR trick.
I was hoping there was a command line argument I could use to turn off FSR but doesn't appear to exist. Found this list which may be helpful https://gamingwithdaopa.ellatha.com/diablo4/client-launch-parameters/
I haven't tried the PTR, but I still get freezes from time to time, just much less often with FSR disabled.
The point at which the client freezes ("Logging into Diablo IV") always has a long delay with an unresponsive UI. Usually it proceeds after 30-60 seconds, but maybe 10% of the time it freezes and needs to be manually terminated and restarted.
I also sometimes have an issue where it doesn't freeze but when the game starts there is a message "Reconnecting to battle.net..." in the top left corner, which never resolves, and the game cannot be played (presumably because there's no network connection) and the client needs to be terminated and restarted.
