Trying to make it run

Hello,

I created a crosstie that bumps the Windows 10 version to 1909 and installs DKVK (Upstream) as a dependency.

Then I upgraded DKVK to 2.1 using the Crosstie but changing the tar.gz: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v2.1

Also installed d3d12 support DLLs: https://github.com/HansKristian-Work/vkd3d-proton/releases/tag/v2.8

Still, I get a "No GPU" message. I've seen that others with Wine Stagging made it work, and also with the Steam Deck.

Maybe if a Support Ninja can join we can have something working for the Open beta this weekend

Thanks for your feedback,

I'm really hoping to play it myself this weekend.

Can you detail how you installed DKVK 2.1 in crossover and d3d12 dlls, I don't really understand how to do it.

Good luck to you for the open beta

Hi folks,

Diablo IV is only running on the Steam deck with Wine changes, so it will not work with CrossOver at this time. I'm hoping that it will work with CrossOver 23, and we will continue our testing in the open beta.

Best,
Meredith

PS - Friendly reminder to our Mac users that we currently don't have DirectX 12 support - we are working on it, but games will lag behind there compared to Linux :)

will it run using steam for linux?

Yes.

Steam Linux Proton 7

@Meredith the version 1.0.2 of Diablo IV run in CrossOver 22 with the modifications above, perfectly.

Would you like I create crossties for the components and publish everything? Or we should wait for the release of CrossOver 23 with built in support?

@carlos I'd like to have the "tutorial" about how to install Diablo IV using crossover :D

Some users we'll have only the Crossover 22 (latest version).

Meanwhile the codeweavers is working in the proper implementation, it would be great to taste your build in other macs and see it running.

Could you do it for us? We really appreaciate it.

Thanks a lo!

I published the Crosstie but it needs to be checked by ninjas first. You can meanwhile download it from my OneDrive:

I saw that you want to test it in Mac. I have only tested this on Linux and it is based on Proton, likely it won't work on Macs (maybe Intel macs?)

For macs maybe is better to follow a tutorial like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Nd-nR3-6lU&ab_channel=Bj%C3%B8rnarKibsgaard using the Game Porting Toolkit that is based on the CrossOver source code.

Hope it helps

Thank you so much.

Yes, I did it run on Mac OS Ventura using gameportingtool.

It was crazy because the gameportingtool it's designed to be executed on Sonoma but ... it worked using Command Line Tools 15 Beta (a library for using Apple tools like Xcode).

Thanks again.
