ATI Graphics Card issues with Diablo III

I just took the jump of moving over to all Ubuntu on my personal computer and am setting up Diablo III. I was able to successfully deploy the unsupported Crossover needed to install the Diablo III tie. However, when running Diablo, my screen ends up looking like this http://imgur.com/50iUt much of the time. I have attempted to update my graphics drivers both via the Ubuntu Drivers center and through the downloads from the ATI website. Here is a pastebin of my issues I get from the Ubuntu Drivers attempts: http://pastebin.com/NdWftGhG

Can you confirm that you have downloaded one of the builds in the 'unsupported builds' section
after approximately 2:30 p.m. CST on Friday, 5/18, and that you still see this problem?

We updated the build with one which we believe will work better with ATI cards. If you're still seeing that issue with the new build, I'd be interested to know.

For me it´s the same with new new build. Very often white areas.

Radeon HD4650

I just purchased both CrossOver and Diablo III last night :), so it was after May 18th build.

For now, it looks like POL allows ATI graphics cards to perform without the white polygon issues. For now until this issue is resolved, it looks like it may be a valid workaround....

Because of this post I went and downloaded PlayOnLinux to check it out. The only registry key that was different has now been set for CrossOver as well for Diablo III and you can now download CrossOver 11.1 from your My Downloads page.

Note that the key that gets set (DirectDrawRenderer=gdi) makes a very big difference for AMD users (as do the AMD fixes we've included).

Many thanks for pointing out that there was a difference.

Thank you for working so diligently on this! I can't wait to get off work and go home to try it out :)

The recent changes have made it so the white polygon overlays that were plaguing me earlier are now gone! Runs like a dream. Thanks again for your diligence to fix this issue.
