I have the newest version of CX games, and there is a unique issue here that I haven't found with any other game. The installer went just fine, but when I start the game, the intro videos play (like the blizzard logo and so forth) but when the game menu would ordinarily come up, the screen kinda goes 2/3 black and the other third is a mix of different-colored stripes. Anybody know what the issue is? (I am running Ubuntu 8.10 and CX games 7.something)
It sounds like a graphics issue... maybe a driver out of sync? Or maybe one that needs to be updated. Is 3d rendering enabled on your system? The intro videos do not have any actual 3D in them; so the first instance of 3d you encounter is at the game menu. If this does not load properly, the first thing to check is for 3d or graphics issues.
I have almost the exact same problem, except, instead of having 2/3 black and 1/3 colored strips, I just get a completely black screen. And I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and the newest version of crossover. Any ideas?
