I have tested "Deus Ex: Invisible War" under CrossOver Games 7.0.0 on an aluminum iMac running OS 10.5.2. Unfortunately, there are a few problems I have encountered, one of which keeps the game from being playable.
Main Problem:
No CD Recognition: After you install the game and start a new game, it plays the intro movie. The movie works perfectly. Then you select your avatar options. Then, just when the actual game should begin, the game says, "Disc 2 is not inserted." In fact, Disc 2 was inserted- the game cannot detect it.
Other Problems:
Stuck at Low Resolution: When you start the game, it defaults to the minimum resolution of 640x480 and full-screen (non-windowed). If you change the resolution in the game's graphics options, the image becomes offset upward and cut off. If you try to change the resolution back down to 640x480, the game crashes. (The mouse moves, but the menu is not responsive and a few seconds of audio loop continuously.)
CrossOver Does Not Find Application: After the installation of the game is complete, the only installed application recognized by CrossOver is the game's uninstaller. This is the only program you can run from CrossOver's "Programs" menu. In order to run the game itself, you need to find the application file and run it with CrossOver. In order to do this: In CrossOver, choose "Configure -> Manage Bottles," select the correct bottle, click on the "Advanced" tab, click "Open C: Drive in Finder," and navigate to "drive_c/Program Files/Deus Ex - Invisible War/DX2.exe". Drag the DX2.exe file onto CrossOver games to start the game.
NVidia Logo Does Not Appear: This bug doesn't matter to players, but I mention it here in case it provides any clues for the CrossOver team. When you start the game, you see short animated logos for Eidos Interactive and Ion Storm, the game's publisher and developer. These appear correctly. Next, you hear the audio for the animated logo of NVidia (a person whispering "Nvidia"), but you only see a white screen instead of the animated logo.
