okay, so now i have installed steam and the game thru steam.
the application launches. I hear audio and hear that it responds to keystrokes.
the only thing i see is a black screen. So of anyone have ideas how to solve this don't hesitate to share the knowledge. :)
I'm going to experiment and get back with the results.

...iirc, you're on Mac, right? Are you trying to run it fullscreen or
with emulated virtual desktop enabled?....umm....
...I'm suspicious of something ; if you haven't tried enabling the
emulated virtual desktop feature, do it and try the game again. When you
do this, is just the game window black, or does your whole desktop go black?...
