Since support on DCUO seems to be a dead issue - and a very basic problem with crossover's version of wine not playing nice with Unreal Engine 3 - who keeps voting this up anywhere above Bronze, and why?

Can we at least put in a caveat, so nobody else makes the mistake of paying the $50 for a solution that doesn't actually work, except to admire the pretty scenery?

...this works fine, even I could (and did) rank this gold
based on the observed performance here on my hardware. The
current crosstie profile gets a bronze tho', as I don't think
it's quite correct/current with the game content/files today.
Otherwise. a 'gold' would seem a deserved ranking...

It doesn't "work fine" if all I can do with the latest version of Crossover and the correct bottle is drive around a flickering guy with his arms outstretched but a gloriously billowing cape.

Oh, and of course spend money in the marketplace. Priorities. ;)

I do see that this has now been split into an OSX (Bronze) and Linux from Scratch (Gold) tree as of Sunday, which I think will head off any other disappointed parties before they run aground by using wine in the "wrong" OS. :)

Just used the crosstie bottle in mac for this game (european region). I had also to change the installer file (as now the europe version requires an installer from another company).

I am able to login and fully install the game. Hover when pressing the big green button PLAY, it simply crashes.

Can someone help with this and maybe update the online crosstie profile?

Eurozone logins may have their own special problems since now they don't go through the standard launcher; you folks are railroaded through Alaplaya/ProSeibenSat.1's portal with all the joy and quality implied there.

So... anyone on Linux in Europe on DCUO is essentially stuck?

Even though I'm using the steam version, I think i've tried the version that wasn't stream related and it has some serious network issues, there's no way it can be gold rated....installs but doesn't run with error 1-0 on connecting
