This game uses Games for Windows Live DRM for its online stuff. GFWL does not work in wine. Games that use GWFL do not work on wine unless they are fixed. The fixes probably violate the DMCA and other laws and that is not how we roll here.
There is more info on the winehq AppDB entry for this game. Don't blame wine, blame game devs and publishers for making poor judgements. Too bad, the game is really good.
