I tried this for playonmac and i couldn't' get much stability. I
emails code weavers and he worked in this to the crosstie but after
redownloading the whole bottle, I still have the issue of a logindll
I wonder if there was someway where I could just add the logindll to
my crossover install but I am not sure savvy. I had this working for
the most part of play on mac but when it would go into full screen
it would not always load for me. I love this game and we were just
thinking about getting into it, but I don't want to go and do my pc
to play it :(
Are you still successfully running this on playonmac? I am going to
try to uninstall the program dn reinstall it to see if I can get
daoc on it again.
Hi there.. I'm stable using WINE 1.6.2, and using a virtual desktop setup. It is unstable if you go truly full screen.
Setup was done manually in PlayOnMac:
- Install d3dx9_36, dontnet20, Microsoft Core Fonts, XML3 & XML4, vcrun6, vcrun2005.
- Could also install IE8.. I've seen no real difference though... I think XML3/4 is really all thats needed.
Configure DAoC install and click Display tab.
- Disable GLSL Support
- Direct Draw Renderer: OpenGL
- Offscreen rendering mode: pbuffer
- Enable Multisampling
Configure WINE
- Graphics: Emulate a virtual desktop (I went 1920 x 960); when you start DAoC, you'll need to go into setup and scroll to correct resolution. Use classic water.. or you'll see a big vast void of black nothing where water should be. :D
A virtual desktop seems to stabilize the install for me.. if I let it go true full screen, it's unstable, especially if I tab out to another app..
Performance seems fairly good for me.. Just wish my money I spent on Crossover was as effective as this free setup. lol
