Just wanted to post how I got it running. I tried it for the first time today (Nov 3, 2013). I'm running OS X 10.9 Mavericks with Crossover 12.5.1 (12.5.1.27262).
I already had Crossover installed, so I logged in to Picroma's site, downloaded Cube World onto my desktop.
- Start Crossover.
- Go to Configure -> Install Software...
- Choose Other Application from the list of applications
- Then on the next page select Choose Installer File...
- Navigate to the CubeSetup3.exe and select it.
- Then just click on Install at the bottom of the window, bypassing the creation of a bottle. This will use the default settings which is to create a brand new Windows XP bottle.
- Once it's installed, the game still will not run. You must then go back to Configure -> Install Software
- This time, instead of choosing Other Application, scroll down to the Runtime Support Components and choose Microsoft DirectX Runtime - Modern.
- This time, change the bottle settings so that it does not create a new bottle, but instead installs the DirectX Runtime on the bottle that you created for Cube World.
Once this is done, it should run just fine.
I hope this helps someone.
