Working great in linux with CXG 8.1.4/9.0

Cube 2 / Sauerbraten installs correctly into a winXP and runs
very well indeed. The only issue encountered so far is that the
default (windows) launch command does not work. To work around this,
use the following commands ;

cd ~/.cxgames/[bottle_name]/drive_c/Program Files/Sauerbraten

~/cxgames/bin/wine --bottle [bottle_name] bin/sauerbraten.exe -f

(where [bottle_name] is the name of the bottle you installed into without
the [ ] brackets)

A silver out of the box, but is running at gold level really. After I do
some more testing/check the editing functions, it might get the gold...

Cheers!

This is great, and yes it does work well in Linux, but mainly because of the support for OpenGL in Linux. Mac is not so happy about running the game however. Thank-You!

There is a mac native version of Sauerbraten....

Works fine natively on OS X.Link to Sauerbraten Mac

edit: Ooops!....sincere apologies...content deleted as it was overly terse.

What you and I have both been suckered by here, is the insidious (sometimes)
practice of cross-linking. Check again ; go the the homepage link on the
Sauerbraten C4 page here, click on the Mac download --> notice you end up
at Sourceforge, look at the file your're downloading. Now, do it again from
the Mac-centric link you just posted about, click on the download link there
--> notice you end up at Sourceforge, look at the file your're downloading.

See?...same file....I was concerned the entry here was somehow inaccurate
or misleading and/or you were being very silly..sorry 'bout that...but the
root cause of it all is the way that (excuse the language here) 'Macfanboy'
site you linked to presents Sauerbraten as a software title -- it even had
me believing it was a Mac product and I don't even have a Mac <grin>...but
once I cross checked the links I instantly realized all of this...lesson
learnt .again...for you and me both ...always really cross check your download
links from other sites before posting -- most of the time, C4 turns out to
be the more correct example of how to present someone else's software 😎
