Setting up Crestron SIMPL+ in Crossover

I figured I'd take a stab at getting a full Crestron development environment setup and running in CrossOver. I'll detail my travails in this thread.

For the first attempt, I simply created a new bottle and installed the Crestron MasterInstaller app in it. It completed successfully and I am able to run the application and select the various packages that I want to install. However, when I attempt to kick-off the process (either via "Download, but do NOT install" or by "Download and Install"), I get a Username and Password prompt. I provide my Crestron credentials and click OK but am met with a cryptic error dialog with gibberish instead of text. So no joy trying to use MasterInstaller to set up the bottle.

I'll try manually downloading the apps and installing them by hand. Updates to follow.

For attempt #2, I used the same bottle that I installed the MasterInstaller app into and manually installed the following packages:

Crestron Database 27.00.010.00
Crestron Device Database 36.00.009.00
Crestron SIMPL Windows 3.02.04.01
Crestron Toolbox 2.27.040.29
SIMPL+ Cross Compiler 1.3

All installations proceeded without error with the exception of Toolbox which threw a lot of errors so I suspect that Toolbox will not end up working at all.

I appear to be able to load SIIMPL+ Windows and load some of my project files. However due to the installation errors with Toolbox, debugging and connections to actual Crestron devices is not possible.

Still to add to the bottle:
Crestron Visiontools Pro 4.4.12.00

Attempt #3 was more successful. This time, I started by creating a new bottle and installing .NET Framework 2.0 and C++ 2008 Redistributable from the CrossTies. Then I proceeded with the Crestron software installs. This time, there were no errors installing Toolbox and everything seems to run.

I have been unsuccessful, however, in getting Toolbox's System Info utility to connect to any of my control processors.

Still working on it.
