no sound

i have no sound when playing can somebody help

I assume you are running CrossOver Linux.

Things to try:

  1. see if you get sound in any other Linux app. Most of the time, Sound issues are traced to missing/broken sound card support in Linux.

  2. Disable any other background processes. Some apps hog sound on cards that do not allow multiple sound streams. Most notable is the ESD sound mixing daemon in some versions of Gnome. Go to your sound preference panel and disable system sounds in Gnome. KDE should have something similar.

I just tried with cross over games and had no sound as well. I had to go into winecfg and disable alsa (enbabling only oss) for sound to work. I am using fedora 8.

Is fedora 8 using pulseaudio?
