Crash at menu

::This happens in ALL Half-Life 1 based games (Day of Defeat, Counter-Strike... etc)::

i double click the link in the steam window, it loads to the menu screen at 800x600 and then crashes to the desktop and resets my desktop resolution to 800x600 which is annoying.

annyone have the same issue?

Fedora8 (2.6.23.9-85.fc8) x86_64
Crossover 6.2.1(Stable)

Maybe it is a problem with the execution prevention feature that is enabled by default on 64 bit Linux distributions. Some Windows applications do not like it. Older versions of HL1 had bugs with it, I don't know if Valve fixed them since then(the problems also occur on Windows).

You can try to disable execution prevention(also called noexec or NX). You can do this by adding "noexec=off" to the kernel boot parameters in /boot/grub/menu.lst, or consult your distribution's documentation.

I have exactly the same problem in the latest version of CrossOver Games. 😭
