Odd geometrical shapes while playing

I've played around with all the settings possible and when CSS actually starts to work I get these weird shapes across buildings and everywhere I walk. I have a screenshot(bottom), so I was wondering if this has anything to do with the settings that I found were recommended:
Model Detail: High

Texture Detail: High

Shader Detail: Low

Water Detail: Simple Reflections

Shadow Detail: Low

Color Correction: Disabled (grayed out)

Antialiasing Mode: None

Filtering mode: Bilinear

Wait for vert sync: Disabled

High Dynamic Range: None

So those are the settings I'm running it windowed. I've tried all -dxlevels and -novid, -w 800, - windowed etc, but I've recently had no luck.

So this is what I get when I play. So I was wondering if you anyone has ever gotten this problem before and how to fix it.

Thanks

I would think that is because of your video card, what video card do you have because it might be your computer trying to do something your video card doesn't support and also what os do you have mac or linux? (or other)

yeah I'm running on Mac OS X with a MacBook(Intel GMA 950), but it use to be fine before Counter-Strike Source just randomly stopped working and I reinstalled it, so I lost some of my launch option configuration settings.

okay ..i dontmean to be blunt ...but intel gma cards do support games well . Even on Windows.

You could try launch options like these below
-novid -sw -h x -w x -dxlevel 80

where x is your screen size and ratio

and so on...

If nothing else is wrong , best bet would be to lower the resolution to the very minimum.

If there is like any error messages ...than..do post it up (:

CS:S on the GMA 950 comes up in dxlevel 70 on windows by default. I never figured out why it defaults to dxlevel 81 on CrossOver.

The cards can run the game in dxlevel 90, but it would be slow, slow, slow. The drivers are kinda crappy as well, so I am not sure if they'd be up to the task.

The Intel GMA X3100 (= GMA 965?) runs the game in dxlevel 90 on Windows, and 81 on CrossOver Games 7.2.2. Cxgames 8.0 will run the game in dxlevel 90 on this card. Its rather slow compared to Nvidia and ATI cards, and the drivers still suck(so no Left4Dead on those cards), but it should render properly.

Well I tried your configurations and no luck it just quits, It's kind of odd it use to work perfectly about 3 months ago, and now its just dead. I upgraded my ram 2 days ago to play The Sims 3 because supposidly its compatible with Intel chipsets, guess what, not this one. I thought maybe if I upgraded the ram it might also get things back to normal, but well no luck.

Upgrading ram isnt going to help much with de graphics

Try the usual check up of updating drivers , reinstalling Steam and css on a new bottle ..
Heard intel had a driver upgrade recently...you should check it up if you havent updated yours. It might have many bugfixes..

If all those above is tried , and if it still doesnt work .... i will try reproducing the error on my laptop with that intel graphic card...and try to find out whats wrong ..

Thanks for the help guys, I'm going to reinstall CrossOver games itself because I just installed X11, and I know thats something that makes crossover supposedly work a lot better, and I'm going to create a new bottle and reinstall steam and ect.
If that doesn't work well then I'm out of luck.

Update: Well it seems like I've tried everything and no luck, the odd shapes are still there. What I'm going to try to do now is to delete counter-strike: source and actually download it, what I was doing before was restoring it from a back up CD that I created long ago, so I hope it works whenI download it. Fingers crossed

Alright, I fixed the problem all I had to do was upgrade to the latest version of CrossOver Games 8.0 and that was it.
