Wel...heres a summerised view point from the internet...
For information on the CMeshDX8:LockIndexBuffer error, please read this article on Steam Support. To summarize, this error can be caused by one of the following reasons:
ITs important you update your graphic card driver..On the other hand you could try fiddling with hardware acceleration on your sound card..works for some people..
you could also try to specify video memory size ...with regedit in HKEY_CURRENTUSER>>>Software>>>Wine>>>Direct3D (Reported to work for some people)
Ah well...do tell on how it goes and i will try to help

this article on Steam Support. To summarize, this error can be
caused by one of the following reasons:
- Not enough free page pool memory. This could be caused by too
many other programs running, too small pagefile size, or a computer
with lower end or old hardware.- Do not Alt+Tab when in-game. Your computer might not be able
to allocate enough memory to render graphics.- Outdated driver for an ATI video card.

Thank you!
Would it be possible for you to post a screenshot of your registry of the direct3d folder?
On my registry...i realised that glsl is disabled for ati .
Maybe you could navigate to HKEY_CURRENTUSER>>>Software>>>Wine>>>Direct3D
Create a new string called "VideoMemorySize". Add the amount of your video in memory in megabytes into the data field. Eg if you have 256mbs of video ram add 256 to the data field.
Give it a try? Ati drivers are known to be not recognised
Sorry.... but nothing work!

Hi Ralph,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I can't find much information about
this error in Codeweavers' back files, but I've found quite a few forums online
where windows users have experienced this issue (or seen the same error
message).
If you haven't already tried the following steps, please do so:
Please let me know if any of these steps change the behavior.
Quoted from Jack Phinney from http://www.codeweavers.com/support/tickets/browse/?ticket_id=710695
Oh yes btw..how much video memory did you specify in the direct3d registry?
Try setting a lower screen resolution and see if it works. You can either do that by setting steam in a wine virtual desktop or lunch option command
-sw followed by -h and -w . -h is height -w is width ...value goes beside it ...
Hm..keep us up to date ..thanks ^^
Hello!
It works!! 😅 😅 😅
I try adding '-dxlevel 80' an its works fine!!!!!
Thanks
😯 😀
Your Welcome ^^
Glad to help you
