okay now im starting to lose faith in CrossOver Game...

i got iMac 24" 2,4ghz 4gig ram.... and when i try to play CSS in 1200x7xx i got a 100fps when i look in to the wall, and then when i move to some place it drops to 40fps... ok i can live with that.. BUT my mouse is starting to freak me out, its lagging or what i now shall call it, it dose not respond to my Razer mouse (gaming mouse... well it shuld be?!) and when i shrink my resolution to like 1000x--- its the same thing..

i got
Model on high
texture on high
shadow low
shade low
Simple reflections
no AA or AF

so whats the with CrossOver?
shuld i go to maby WmWare and use there product or enny other company???

ok here is an image, u can see my settings there aswell... its pritty darn sad that CrossOver is not as good as thay say... like ok i can live with some grafic bugs, but look where im aiming, im aiming at the same house and the grafics ar not so good, and look at my settings and the FPS down to the left... come on 800x600 and 30-50 FPS... i know i got Shaders on HIGH, but it dosent make enny big diffrent, and i got Filtering mode on Trilinear, and yea i got like 130fps, but still when im looking from where im standing and alot of places on the map i got like 50 FPS, only when im looking on a wall its on 130 FPS, and the mouse is lagging almost all the time, smal little lags but still enoying..

so WHAT am i doing wrong?

to post 2. could just be the custom map u are playing. most are poorly compiled. plus the shader doesnt do a heck of a lot in dx 8.1. there might be a few maps with some 'see thru" texturing that you'll need it for, but otherwise it just kills fps and makes ur gun light up to colored lights...not so important.

oh, and make sure you got ur "smooth mouse" button checked. its hard to play crossover cs:s w/o it

med models and textures help too. the only thing that really looks "that much" worse between med and hi txtures is peoples sprays. also cap ur fps. w/ fps_max in console to a reasonable amnt. for the map. i keep it around 80 and it smooths things out. also net_graph 3 eats frames, so unless u need to check ur rates, use cl_showfps 2

Firstly, macintosh has a few quirks with opengl...So enabling GLSL is a no.....as Macintosh has troubles handling shaders...

to disable it..go import this to your bottle's registry

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D]
"UseGLSL"="disabled"

You Could try this too..cl_drawmonitors 0
r_WaterDrawRefraction 0
r_WaterDrawReflection 0

Or simply set your CSS launch options to a directx of lower value...For example "-dxlevel 80" without the quotes...It means direct x 8 with out the quotes....
