Playing Source using Bootcamp gives me less fps than Crossover!?

Hi, I have a Mac Mini and I know this really is suited for gaming but I can't resist. I have steam installed through Crossover on Leopard and i get around 40 fps windowed with dxlevel 70 on dust2. This for me is playable and I am happy however a MAJOR problem for me is the way the mouse responds in Mac OS making my game unplayable. I installed bootcamp, xp and source. I get with same settings( sometimes trying dxlevel 60) i average 10fps on dust2. How can this be!? I just dont understand why i recieve more fps running it through crossover? Is there any way to increase my fps in windows? Is there any way to fix the mouse accel in Mac OS?

Please help and I'll give you a cake. xx

Hi,
I can't help you with the fps in Windows, but you may be lucky with the mouse acceleration if you disable mouse acceleration entirely in the MacOS settings while playing, and resetting them afterwards. It is a bit awkward, but may work.

how exactly do i disable mouse accel in mac os? Ive tried all programs like steermouse, mousefix, etc and they just dont work.

I am not entirely sure, I've never tried that before(I am used to the mouse acceleration when playing), but there should be some mouse setup options in the MacOS system control as far as I know.

I have found that there is no way of achieving better fps for source using bootcamp as it simply will not work. i found a mouse accel fix for Mac OS but i still recieve the problem when playing CS Source. It feels like the mouse drags sometimes when i want to aim on someone. I have a very good mouse, Steelseries Ikari Optical and know that it is nothing to do with it. I just dont why I get this dragging problem. It feels like mouse accel but with the mouse accel fix the problem is still there :(

Can you identify certain circumstances where the mouse drag happens vs. when it does not?

For example, in very busy or graphically intense scenes? Or, the mouse drags only when you move it very quickly, but tracks smoothly when you move the mouse somewhat more slowly?

Is the drag just a delay where the game seems to need a moment to catch up with your movement? Or is it jerky, stuttery movement?
