MacPro CSS

Ok so i'm ordering a Mac Pro with the fallowing specs:

4GB RAM
x1900 XT gfx
Two 2.66gHz Intel Xeon Processors

I was wondering what kind of FPS am I looking at running CS:S on Mac using CrossOver?

Also, does the game run in full screen? If not, that's a huge down side for me.

I'm running a Mac Pro, 8 core @ 3 GHz, 4 GB Ram, 30-inch cinema display and the ATI x1900 XT card. Yes, you can get full screen either by using full resolution of your display, or by changing your display to a lower resolution. I've been playing CSS in windowed mode at 1600x1200 and 1280x960 (widescreen) at around 75-85 fps. When I switch to 1024x768 (normal) I get between 100-120 fps. All effects on, water reflection full, high anti-aliasing, etc. Its beautiful. (Same for HL2)

Dude I love you...i've been waiting for this answer FOREVER.. Thanks SO MUCH...one more question though...did you have to set anything in the Launch Options? like the dxlevel or anything?

i am doing essentially the same except with a 23" display without changing anything.

I will say, something odd.. you know the mac screen of death, where it goes shaded and tells you have to reboot.. I've had that several times since i started using css + crossover. I'd reccomend closing steam and crossover anytime you're not using it.

and even more oddly. People have complained (including myself) about random crashes.. I have no idea what this means but it seems like I can play at night when servers are less crowded and the thing wont crash ever. Even more oddly when it does crash (aka just dissappear) its always when im in game and shooting a handgun. go figure.

I am forcing the use of Opoen GL with "-gl" because I found it provided better images and performance versus setting "-dxlevel 90" or "-dxlevel 80".
