server busy

Hi!

I just installed Steam, which worked fine. I could also connect to the steam network with my account data. Now that I try to install CS:S an error message keeps popping up telling me that the servers are too busy to handle my request. But this is not true. In Win. servers are reachable.
Does anyone have a clue how to work this out?

greetings,
basti

I have never seen such a server busy message, but simmilar issues. They all turned out to be caused by the steam servers. There is a difference between doing a complete installation of a game and just checking if a game is up to date and downloading minor updates.

You can copy the steamapps/ folder from your steam directory on windows to the steam directoy in your crossover bottle(or symlink it if it is the same machine), then you do not have to download everything again.

You can find the bottle in
Macos: ~/Library/Application support/Crossover/bottles/
Linux: ~/.cxoffice/
(~ is your home directoy)
