Will this run on my 2.0GHz MacBook w/2GB RAM? Whenever it opens I cannot see anything, I only recieve a black screen. I can however hear my mouse go over the menu buttons.

i get this problem too... it would be great if this (and almost every other game i own) would work using CrossOver. i'm actually willing to pay! :P
The RAM matters less than the graphic card that your MacBook is equiped with.
Have you any idea of the model of your graphic card ?
I know very few about Mac since I'm Linux user, but I know that Apple doesn't give very powerfull graphic cards in their computers, assuming that their hardware is rather for doing anything but not so much "advanced gaming".
I just updated the known issues for this. The Intel video chip in regular MacBooks do not support shaders properly. This means most DX8 and higher games will not run well or at all on this chipset.
In HL2 engine games you can work around this by adding -dxlevel 70 to the command line options. We will see if there is anything we can do to work around this in the future on our side. The best solution would be for Intel and Apple to update the opengl drivers on this chipset to add better shader support. Problem with that is, this would be done via software, and it would be very slow.
