CSS crashing each and every time I join a game, with Crossover. As soon as the data is finished transferring and I see the team select window, it freezes and goes to desktop with that frozen image as the desktop. After cmd+Q I can end the program but even after reboots I still can't play.

I've tried reinstalling a few times, changing settings in the CSS console, changing the launch settings in steam, and nothing is working.

I wonder if this is the motd rendering error..
if it is , try installing internet explorer 6 into your counterstrike bottle.

May i ask if you are running in full screen mode?

What commands did you put for the launch options?
-dxlevel 81 ? -sw?

Or you could run a debug..
