Counter-Strike: Source Freezing & Quiting

Hi, I recently did a fresh install of Mac OS 10.5, I had Cross OverGames running CS:S before I did the clean install but after I re-installed CrossOver Games ( I also made a new bottle and download Steam & CS:S again) but when I try and launch Counter Strike I get to play for a few seconds then it freezes up, quits, and takes me right back to steam. I've tried installing it on more than 5 different newly created winxp bottles but the problem protists. Here's my computers stats: Processor: 2.4 GHx Intel Core 2 Duo wiht 4 GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM. Any one have any suggestions on how I can fix this?

There's a memory leak in the HL2 based games like CS:S that Crossover Games 7.2 triggers very quickly. The best thing to do until the next release of Crossover Games is to use the older Crossover Games 7.1 which doesn't cause the memory leak to happen as fast. If you've purchased Crossover Games when you login to your codeweavers.com account click on the My Downloads link and then the Archived Downloads tab to get the older version of Crossover Games.

I have the same problem. I have understood your temp solution, only wanted to confirm the problem.

EDIT: I found a solution that at least slowed down the problem. I increased heapsize to 512M by adding "-heapsize 512000" to the command line (the parameters for the game in the My Games menu.) I run Ubuntu 9.04 and have 2Gb ram.

@Andrew
I followed your instructions but my deb manager (I run Ubuntu 9.04) will not allow me to install 7.1 as it claims "A later version is already installed"

Do I need to go through an uninstall to get this to work? When do you expect to have the bug fixed?

You will need to uninstall your current version of Crossover in order to install an older one. use your package manager to remove CX Games, and then manually delete /opt/cxgames for good measure. Your installed applications with Crossover will be unaffected.
