Ok there is an alterative method if the installer wont run...
Copy all of the files from the Allied CD that are located in the Install directory on that cd to the Westwood/Red Alert 2 directory in your crossover bottle's C drive.
create a text file and copy and paste this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Westwood\Red Alert 2]
\"Name\"=\"Red Alert 2\"
\"InstallPath\"=\"$WINEINS\\\RA2.EXE\"
\"FolderPath\"=\""
\"SKU\"=dword:00021002"
\"Version\"=dword:00010000"
\"Serial\"=\"\"
save the file as redalert2.reg
open regedit in the bottle of crossover you copied the game to and import the registry key.
The game requires a crack to be playable for more than 30 seconds (copy protection is not supported in Crossover), information about this was taken from the Wine Appdb for Red Alert 2
The copy protection in Red Alert 2 is very special, as it will blow
up all your units after 30 seconds. This can be avoided by doing the
following.
Update the game to the latest version (if you want to)
Make a folder called 'backup' in your RA2 directory and move
'Ra2.exe' and 'Game.exe' to it
Download this crack and place the 'game.exe' it contains in the RA2
directory

Download this crack and place the 'ra2.exe' found in the 'crack'
subfolder of 'ra2_allied_crk.zip' in your RA2 directory
(http://www.megagames.com/cgi/download/download.cgi?action=search&category=cracks&search=RA2_CRK.ZIP)
If you only intend to use the Allies CD, symlink the mix files from
the CD root (run the following command while in your RA2 directory:
'ln -s /mnt/cdrom/.mix .', substitute /mnt/cdrom with your CD
mountpoint). Otherwise, copy all the mix files from your Allies CD
root to your RA2 directory, and then insert the Soviet CD and
symlink ('ln -s /mnt/cdrom/02.mix .') or copy maps02.mix and
movies02.mix from it
You can find more cracks here if you want to experiment on your own.
