This game DOES work on 8.0 (Install instructions here!)

Hey, I was trying Crossover 8 and managed to get Command & Conquer 3 (demo version) working perfectly despite what has been on here (maybe the two demos fell in love, who knows). Anyway now for my fix. Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this :)

I'll make an excerpt from my blog to show what I did (My blog).

You'll need a copy of windows on a virtual machine or a friends computer. The game should also be installed on their computer, and then run once (with full setup etc, so a profile folder has been made).

Firstly, go to the windows computer/virtual machine that has Command & Conquer installed (and played/run at least once). Look in (forgive me if this is wrong):
c:\users\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\

This folder may be hidden or otherwise invisible, so you may have to manually type in the address in Explorer. Copy a profile folder (if the person is called "Shirley" in-game, their profile folder will have the same name).

Then after that you need to hunt down:
Main Partition/Users/YOUR USER NAME/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Name of the bottle which has CNC3 in it/drive_c/users/crossover/Application Data/Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars/

For me that'd be:
Macintosh HD/Users/Christian/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Windows XP/drive_c/users/crossover/Application Data/Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars/

Simply copy your profile into that folder by means of networking, USB, Floppy disk etc and you'll be able to fire up CNC3 in Skirmish mode in no time. And if for some reason that doesn't work or you are missing the CNC3 folder in Application Data, just copy the entire Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars folder from the Windows PC's copy.

Well tried to install the game on the pc and then copy the profile, but nope that didn't work out.

I am now downloading the demo and try that out to make a profile and copy that to the right folder.
You will hear soon about this.

Ok got it work also. Keyboard cant be used, but it isn't really necessary, you can do everything with the mouse.

For the guys who wont spent hours of install and fooling around to create that simple profile.....here i did that job for you guys ;)

followup instructions also be read above (thanks to Christian Meredith)

Have fun,

Hey paulthetall I tried downloading and copying the folder you have uploaded but it doesn't seem to have the right name and still does not work if I change it to "Profiles" or put it in a folder of that name in the C&C3 folder. Can you please check your files or tell me if I am doing something retarded? I appreciate your effort and look forward to playing this game. Thanks

Ok, here clear instructions:

  • Extract the c&c profile package.
  • Change the "profielen" folder name to "Profiles"
  • First after installing the game run, the game once…..otherwise there is no folder created.
  • After running the game, go managed bottles --> browse c: --> users --> crossover --> application data --> Command &
Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars --> Drop in that folder: the "profiles" folder (if you get a note to overwrite, then overwrite).

This should be the trick…at least for me it did.

Have fun!

I keep getting an error where it can't find the CD, even if its in the drive. I went through the normal install, any ideas?

it has to do with this part: Confront DRM issues (link to http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/dmca)
