Crossover Games and Kane's Wrath

How's it run in Crossover Games? Has any one tried Kane's Wrath?

I have both standard and Kane's Wrath running using Crossover games. I used the "tips and tricks" for making it run, and it runs ok.

The highest detail level i can achieve without the graphics messing up is:
Antialiasing: off (no option to set it higher)
Terrain Detail: Ultra High (Max)
Water Detail: Ultra High (Max)
Model Detail: High (Max)
Texture Detail: High (Max)
Shader Detail: low (Min)
VFX Detail: Ultra High (Max)
Shadow Detail: low (2/5)
Animation Detail: Ultra High (Max)
Decal Detail: High (Max)

I would love to see more shader support as most modern games use a lot of shaders to make the games look great.

Not to be rude, but why are you bothering to try to get the game to work on CrossOver? The game has been ported for Mac already. I understand you may have bought the PC version, and want it to run on your Mac now (Or you want actual updates at a realistic pace), but you can't expect it to be much better than the Mac version.

Totally agree with you on the better shader support, for all games and programs!

We support Shader Model 3.0 with GLSL, unfortunately the MacOS GLSL implementation is pretty buggy and falls back to software rendering or renders incorrectly if it meets even pretty simple DX9 shaders. Because of that we have disabled GLSL and SM 2.0+ support on Macs by default. If you want to try your luck you can enable it by deleting the following registry key or setting it to "enabled":

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/Direct3D/UseGLSL = "disabled"

Ohh, sounds interesting. Lemme try that and check out some games that didn't work too well.

Thanks!

The reason to make this run in crossover is that the expansion (Kane's wrath) have not been ported to mac. And the ported standard version is only available in the US...

But i will try enabling the shaders and see what results i get...

Using crossover may be better in the long run because the mac version is crap. I ran C&C 3 in XP on high settings with no lag and the mac version is slow VERY slow. No multi-core support!

I think what he meant is the expansion, CNC3:Kane's Wrath, not CNC3 Kane Edition. Kane Edition is just a bonus edition for the original, Kane's Wrath is an expansion with new units, maps, and new campaign.

Question:
when or how will I be able to play C&C Kanew Wrath with CrossOver Games?!
Need quick help, my trail Version expires in a couple days, and I don't know if I'd buy it yet because of Kanes wrath!!

Thanks
