Really long start time on Apple Silicon

When I start Cogmind on Apple Silicon the game sits there with 100% CPU usage and a black screen for 10-15 minutes. When the game eventually appears it's perfectly playable, but the incredibly long boot time is a bummer. Is there a way to speed this up?

MacBook Air (M1, late 2020)
