CXOFFICE & KDE menus and CXOFFICE 8.0 on 64bit

Hi,

i just desinstalled crossover 7 and tried 8. When using 7 i had the CrossOver>Config/Install... etc. menu in my kde menu. No they are missing. Even if i install 7 again they are still gone. That looks like an KDE issue, but if s/o in here has an idea, please let me know. What's cxoffice/bin/locate_gui.sh for?

Anyway, i am excited to see some Apps (unsupported) working in 8 which did not work in 7. I am going to submit and rate them.

Another notice about 8:

If in install software i get a warning now that the 32bit libraries xyz are missing (hal, libgphoto etc). Does 7 just not check it or is only 8 not 64bit compatible? I have all of my distros emul-x86-libs packages installed and in general most 32bit apps are running pretty well.

I now tested Navigon Fresh Maps for my Navigational System. It installed AND runs (since 8). But it heavily depends on recognizing the USB card reader or the Navi as an mass storag device to update emaps etc...
My systems detects the hardware properly and in Linux everything works. But the Navigon sofware not. Maybe this is related to missing 32bit hal libs missing? What can i do since im an on 64bit?

Any input regarding missing CrossoverMenu entry (btw, the installed software is not showing up either after reinstallation, i did run cxoffice/bin/cxmenu --crossover --install and for each bottle manually, just t be sure) or reagrsing 64bit/usb cardreader is highly appreciated! :)

Thanks a lot in advance!

Cheers!

Hi Thilo,

I'm Writing back because I've had a similer problem with CXOffice 8 and GNOME

In GNOME what i did to solve the problem is in the menu editor there is an option to revert the changes in the menu (rebuild) the menu.
After I did that and I restarted my computer all the Crossover Menu's were in their place.
