Way to see apps (like the steam window) when using expose?

Does CrossOver enable a way to see the Windows apps your running in Expose? When I launch an app like steam and do Expose its not there (probably due to WINE/the way it interfaces with the Mac desktop) but I noticed when I closed the lid on my MBP and let it go to sleep with Steam open and opened it back up steam all the sudden was on expose and i could click it like a normal OS X app.

Is there a trick to getting it to act like this all the time? (I have 6-7 windows open when I'm on Steam so being able to click thru to it would be awesome via Expose).

They should be visible, but they aren't. This is a bug, but unfortunately a tricky one.

CrossOver uses X11 for displaying its windows(it has its own X server). With this comes our dependency on quartz_wm, Apple's closed source X11 window manager. Quartz_wm has a logic for enabling / disabling the expose feature, but that logic is rather obscure and not known to us. In fact, this is a common complaint about quartz_wm.

Although we think we have to rely on Apple to fix quartz_wm, we are finally working towards getting rid of the X server, and write a window backend that talks directly to Apple's graphics API. This way we get full control over the Expose enable flag ourselves.

Meanwhile, for Steam there's a workaround: If you close the Steam window after starting Steam(just use the X, don't exit Steam), and bring it up by again restarting Steam, then it should show up in Expose.
