Sound stops

I am finding that the sound stops after I've been playing for a few minutes. Is there any fix for this?

You're going to have to give us more to go on. Mac or Linux? Which version of the OS? If Linux, what audio drivers (ALSA, OSS, etc.)?

I am running Linux Mint 9. I am using ALSA drivers.
