How to run Civilization IV

I was able to run Civilization IV in CrossOver Games by installing from the DVD, then installing the 1.74 update exe file. Finally there is a world of information to help with running a copy of the game without the DVD, since there is no way to get the DVD to mount in the CrossOvered Civilization 4 at run-time.
