Call to Power II - does not work

I tried installing CTP 2 in cxoffice, but the installer didn't run.

The installer works in cxgames, but then the program fails to run. When it fails the mouse cursor is missing from the screen and it is not possible to select any other applications in that desktop.

Switching to another desktop CTRL-ALT-RIGHT gave an alternative desktop to be able to get a terminal up and cancel CTP.exe
