Since 5.0 is no longer available, I've just been using 8.0 in XP. When the dust settled on CXO 5.0.0, I gave it a shot and couldn't get past the EULA screen. The EULA will not show, and the installer will not proceed until you acknowledge it.

This app may be a gonner in CXO. May have to go back to CXO v. 3 and try.

I had a similar issue with Chemsketch 8. During the installation process I was asked to open the file disk1.bin. And even though it did exist and was shown in the open file dialog I could not open it. Installation fails.

But I've found a workaround - at least when you have a working Windows installation. I've just copied the ACDFREE8 folder from my Windows XP installation to my "Chemsketch" bottle with the Chemsketch 5.0 installation and started Chemsketch via "~/cxoffice/bin/wine --bottle Chemsketch ~/.cxoffice/Chemsketch/drive_c/ACDFREE8/CHEMSK.EXE".

The same happens to me using cxoffice 5.0. Under 3.x it simple crashed during the installation... bye.

I've just written to acdlabs complaining about the fact that chemsketch 5.0 is no longer available at their site. I also complained about the disappearance of the free programs for simulating NMR spectra that I was able to run under CXO 3.x. May be if you also write a message to them they may give us the program back...
