Hi all,

Firstly thanks for allowing me to act as an advocate for CP Smartconsole, I am experiencing severe challenges with getting the application installed at all.

So far I have attempted with both the latest release 5.0.1 and with 5.0.0 and both times I am being returned the error that the instalation failed, the error appears just as the 'windows installer' pop-up box shows 100% complete, after aproximately 3 minutes both pop-ups disappear and I am left with the 'Crossover' install software box awaiting confirmation that the install is finished and have a blank 'console' window with the title "C:\PROG~FBU\COMM~CP1\INST~JM1\engine\6\INTE~MEX\IKernel.exe -Embedding"
At this point nothing appears to happen and the only way to remove the 'console window' is to kill the process.

Since this is the first windows application that I am installing are there any pre-requisites that are required prior to install? I see from various other advocates posts that the installation has proceeded without incident. Were these installations performed on Vanilla crossover installations? Any pointers much appreciated.

Forgot to add I'm running SUSE 10, installed using both script and rpm with no difference.

I also encountered the symptom of a blank window with solid black contents with title "C:\PROG~FBU\COMM~CP1\INST~JM1\engine\6\INTE~MEX\IKernel.exe -Embedding". After starting again with a new win98 bottle and this time first installing DCOM95 into it, the installation went smoothly. I then installed the Provider-1 MDG into the same bottle with no problems.

that was an inspiration, installing DCOM95 did the trick - it installs and runs like a dream.

Hi,

I am trying to install CP MngmtClnt 50 (R55) on my new CrossOver 6.0.1 on Mac OS X. As it seems that either the Win98 and the Win2k bottels already obtain DCOM95, there should not be this issue, but upon installing I get this error after setup has begun the install process:

Installing:

c:...{D65D5480-488C-4F31-9717-C04AA7F676E}\setup.inx

Then a dialog pops up with this message:

Error Number: 0x80040706
Description: Object reference not set

Thats it, install quits after hitting the OK button.

Any tipps, anyone?

I am getting the exact same error for R55 but I can install R60 and R61 successfully.
