The current state of play under CXG

Sadly Champions Online will not work with the soon to be released Crossover Games 8. There are two known problems at the moment, one seems fairly easy to fix (according to one of the devs), the other is a bit more involved. Unfortunately neither are likely to be in place before CXG 8 ships.

Thanks for the update Alan.

Pity this is the only game I boot to windows for. Also one of the reasons I've been quiet on updates recently. I've been in the open beta/pre start event since last week...

Also a few things have happened at home and work so apologies for my quietness. I hope to be back on track soon.

After running some major debug I came to a simple solution. Just open the launcher and click the "Fast Launch" option under the options menu.

Running CXgames 9.1 Linux

After that, the game runs as good as windows.

Oh and while I don't believe it was needed in the end, I have the following installed in the bottle:

Corefonts
MSXML 3.0
MSXML 4.0 SP3
MSXML 6.0 SP1
DirectX runtime - Modern
Crossover HTML Engine

I'm afraid I haven't been able to get past the launcher using CrossOver Games 9.1.0 on OS X 10.6.4.

It looks like it ought to work and doesn't pop up any error messages, but the launcher just doesn't offer a viable play or patch button.

I tried the suggested Fast Launch option, but that didn't seem to do anything, even after restarting the program, the bottle, and CrossOver Games itself.

CO is now working for me on Mac OS X 10.6.4. I also have installed msxml. I'll need to take some time to do a clean bottle and fresh game install to figure out the exact procedure, but it is working. :D

As a matter of fact I have everything that Brandon has in my bottle except Corefonts.

I was able to get Champions Online up using the Star Trek Online launcher. Under the options I selected the Show All Games tab. Then I selected Champions Online from the list.

Someone please supply the steps to get this game to work on CXG 9.2 please!!!

Alan --

Any ideas on 'what to do' about the duality of this entry versus
the F2P release?...ie; separate C4 pages or?...

Cheers!

Yes, I'd like to see that fixed too. We have two entries for one game here, which means I have to use two votes to make my voice heard. not to mention that it must be highly confusing for new people trying to get help getting the game running. They have had something like a 1000% user increase since the game went free to play and I know several Linux users who would love to get it working on their boxes.
