Not working on CXG 10.1.0 Linux (.Net 3.5)

I could not get the Demo to work, but I purchased the game anyway. It looks like it should be relatively easy to get to work. It only requires XNA Framework 3.1. We have a crosstie for XNA 3.0, but XNA 3.1 installs well enough. (Crosstie for XNA 3.1 will be added soon.)

Additionally, I found some references to MS VC 2008 runtimes, but installing those still proved unfruitful.

Debug log will be uploaded soon.

Sigh. Full game comes with .Net 3.5, so that's the culprit. No point in uploading anything.

Well, I decided to give it a shot anyway, installing .Net 3.0 instead of 3.5.

Surprisingly, Steam's install script didn't try to install .Net 3.5. I saw it in the InstalScript.vdf, but I didn't see it called, so maybe Steam thought 3.0 was sufficient in this case.

Anyway, it still doesn't work.

To recap, this is what I have in the bottle:

  • Basic Steam stuff (Flash, DX9, XML Parser; all from crosstie)
  • XNA 3.1
  • MS VC 2005 (from crosstie)
  • MS VC 2008 (from crosstie)
  • Mono for Windows (I also saw some references to mono.dll, so I installed it from the crosstie)
  • .Net 3.0 (from crosstie)

The debug log was created with +seh and +ntdll flags.

Okay, last one I post for today.

I saw the GUID was for Windows Media Player, so I downloaded the crosstie for CXOffice, changed it to CXGames, and installed it. And now the debug log is full of "missing lib32 gstreamer" messages. How do I install 32-bit gstreamer?

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 on amd64, with nVidia GeForce 9500.

The debuglog was full of them before too ;) If you don't know
how to compile your own 32bit gstreamer libs, you'll need search
through the ubuntu repos...

...btw, it looks like it's trying to initialize a punkbuster
session....not sure if that's working in wine yet....

I don't see anything pointing to PunkBuster ...

Anyway, I'll compile gstreamer with -m32 and we'll see what happens.

Edit: Crap, can't figure out this cross-arch compiling thing. Screw this.

..all those dll's you see it trying to load named pb*.dll are
in fact punkbuster libs...

..unfortunately I can't help you compiling 32bit libs on Ubuntu ;
I don't (and never will) have any knowledge/interest of/in that
distro. I definitely know it's more than tossing an -m32 flag
at gcc tho' =)

I didn't do anything ubuntu-specific. I just downloaded the source from the project's site, and tried a few different ./configures, but the makes broke every time, and I'd rather look at another game. Especially if punkbuster's going to be a problem anyway.
