Dear CrossOver and Canvas fans,
I own registered versions of Canvas 12 for Windows and CrossOver for Mac.
After upgrading to Crossover 11.2.0.26218, I find that Canvas 12 works for most features on a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard (10.6.8)
I have opened and closed complex technical drawings without any corruption as I can open them up again with Mac native Canvas 10. I have opened raster graphics, applied some of the Canvas image tools, and exported them into JPEG where they can be viewed by any image viewer.
The only feature that doesn't work that I've come across is printing. Any attempt to print within Canvas causes a crash, even attempting to print to a file. However, this can be worked around (if in a clumsy way) by saving your document in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format and then printing using a utility like Preview. The result looks perfectly reasonable. The only oddities I noticed was with some font characters not converting properly from Mac to PC.
I haven't extensively tested Canvas, but the results are very promising. It certainly appears that Canvas could be easily supported by CrossOver now if the printing problem could be solved without too much tweaking.
Cheers, Edouard
