Call of Duty: Black Ops Forum

Purchased and downloaded through steam, game has installed and all files verified. Launching the game from steam brings up the small window saying the games launching and then nothing happens.

OpenSuSE 11.3 x64 with CXGames 9.2 and Wine 1.3.6-1

Any ideas?

you could go to the activision support site and try the suggestions they have posted there. I did have this problem, but a few days ago when an update was released for black ops, i didn't have the problem anymore.

I'm also having this issue but have not identified a workaround or solution yet. There is nothing obvious in a log file.

when i go to load the game it says that an error has occurred and the program has to close (which it doesn't) then goes on to say that i have insufficient wine or something a rather... can anyone help?

Installed, then installed DirectX , so far so good, but nothing happens when I "start" the game.
What other components do you have in the bottle ?

Andre when I start the game it doesn't show the menus on the little tv screen and then the game crashes once i do start a game during campaign mode.

you see no menus on the tv screen? Then maybe it is an issue with your graphics card, it has been said that the game has troubles with ATI graphics cards

for some reason when i did windowed mode i could get the game running but then i changed the windowed sized and now it doesn't work.
