When I opened Braid in windowed mode with CxG 8, sometimes the window would load at the normal size except it would just be black, and then the window would resize to be much smaller. The game would load and the menu music would play, but most of the game was cropped out, and I only sat part of the bottom of the house menu and a bunch of black underneath. Now when I'm loading this in CxG 9.0 beta 4, it seems to be doing this all the time, and it's making the game unplayable.
UPDATE:
I tried opening Braid in CxG 9 again for the hell of it, and it decided to work. Though the framerate wasn't the best (13-15), I managed to play the entire last level without a problem. Strange how this window size problem seems to pop up randomly. :|
That is really weird.
Is it Braid on Steam? Do you have desktop effects (e.g. Compiz) on? Are your video drivers sort of recent? Is your linux kernel (or OSX version) sort of recent? Is your machine doing any other taxing operations while you try to run Braid?
I just have Ubuntu on automatic updates with zero extra drivers, and I have created a standard CXG bottle, and Braid has worked extremely well in both CXG 8.1.4 and 9.0.0beta4.
