I see most of you bought the game over steam. I guess I didn't get that memo and I bought it on Gamersgate. It gives me a program called Download Borderlands.exe. I guess it's a downloader and installer app. Problem is during the download it always fails either right at the beginning or sometime during the download. One time I had it at 60% before it failed. It could just be that my school's internet just cuts out every once in a while, botching the download and the way the files are set up it can't resume or maybe CXG just can't install this app. I don't know. Anyone have any suggestions or should I just accept I wasted $50 and buy it again on Steam? Thanks for your help in advance.

You should be able to add it to Steam. Launch Steam, go into 'My Games' and use the 'Add Game' button at the bottom.

If you got a serial code for it, Steam will ask for that and should (should) link up your account. Of course, I haven't done this for Borderlands directly (but I have for Guild Wars a while ago... and we've done it with a few others).

The thing is I paid for the game on Gamersgate. I did not purchase it on Steam. It would be ideal if I could get the downloader app working. If not I'd have to buy it again on Steam. If it would aid someone in helping me I could email you the app or whatever to see if you could duplicate my problem and fix it.

Ok I checked what you were talking about. I do have a serial code but it seems Steam is not accepting it. Maybe the Serial Code I was given from Gamersgate is not the Product Key Steam is asking for?

God it's gonna suck if I have to end up purchasing it from Steam.
