I made a new thread because I wanted to focus on one issue, instead of just trying to get BF2 to work. I've gotten BF2 1.5 beta to work fine using the latest patch (beta 3) and emulating a virtual desktop. With a virtual desktop, it works fine, without the need to install any cracks or modify the game in any way. The virtual desktop needs to be at least 1280x720 for the game to work.
However, should I try to run it in fullscreen mode, without a virtual desktop, I get the following error instead:
can't bind to root surface with no full screen contextIt doesn't matter what command line options I choose to pass to BF2.exe, such as "+fullscreen 0 +szx 1440 +szy 900". I've tried CrossOver Games 7.2.2, 8.0.0 beta 1, and the latest nightly from 8/7.
