Battlefield

BF installed fine with Crossover, but i get a "Debugger Detected Error" - "Unload Debugger and try again"

I've been trying to figure out how to jump that problem, I manage to go passed that and

The Digital Rights Management (DRM) software in this program
prevents it from running in CrossOver. If you are in a legal jurisdiction
which allows removal of such software, you may have luck running this
program. Unfortunately, CodeWeavers, because they are subject to the
Digital Millennium Copyright Act, will be unable to support you.

But I'm still not sure what causes that. This is also the same problem with Battlefield Vietnam.

Even if you get past that, you will need to get DirectX support which is not avilable in CrossOver.

You may wish to have a look at Cedega/WineX for this.

No, what you really want to do is to vote for DirectX http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name?app_id=249
And if you have the means pledge a couple extra $$ toward it.....

Cedega/WineX is the worst possible solution!

And this is some of the nicer post..LOL.... 😊

Tom

There is a ton of working going on in DirectX right now. I am more than hopefull that CX 6.0 will support this game. (Remember that we promised game support in 6.0 right?)

I test BF1942 on nightly builds every week or so. As soon as it starts working I'll post a comment here. Our currently nightly still behaves pretty much the same as 5.0.1 does ATM.

It's getting closer. 😀

Does this work with CrossOver 6.1? And if so, then do you know how I get can get it to give me a play option when I go to Windows Applications-->EA-->BF1942 or BF1942: Vietnam?

It almost works. There are still some graphical glitches and sound bugs we are working on.

The biggest hold back is copy protection support. This is one of the games we want to officially support on CrossOver 7.0 once we finish our copy protection support.

Apologies for the edit.
