Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition

Hello,

I just recently purchased the PC version of BGEE and I am running into some serious installation problems. I have been told that .Net 2.0 framework needs to be installed (and possibly DirectX), but the installer keeps crashing. This keeps coming up after the crash and I'm not sure how to fix it: "process ID=0x2c (44), thread ID 0x2d (45)".

I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 with CrossOver 10.1

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Maybe you should consider trialing a later version of crossover and test that installer. .NET support has made some leaps, esp in the upcoming version 12.

Ok I'll give this a shot today and post the results.

Thanks

I tried the same thing with CXG 11.3 and kept getting the same crash error =/

Hi Eric,

Version 11.3 was the first where I could actually install .NET 4.0 and play Terraria. It does not mean that everything .NET apps need to work is actually in wine. Version 12 has some more .NET support but trying to even install Paint.NET is useless. The installer itself seems to depend on .NET to do its thing and does not work.

I seem to remember Trent Oster talking about two ways of getting the game. Downloading the whole thing all at once and having a Launcher that downloaded it. Which one are you trying?

Unfortunately I haven't had any luck installing the stand-alone installer or the Beamdog client. I wish I could better articulate the problem but I'm not very experienced with code errors. Each time I get the same "unhandled exception" crash errors before the installer can finish loading.

Beamdog client is a "known not to work" program :/ I've been holding off buying this game because people complained of general bugginess. Will probably wait for BG and BG2 to be on sale from the folks at GOG.com and test those community mods.

Submit a ticket and maybe some ninja will be able to help you out.

That was me that gave the rating because I've tried literally everything I could think of. It's odd because I never any issues running BGII or IWD but I suppose this one is a different beast. As for holding off I don't blame you, I got impatient since others reported success with CXG and went ahead and got the PC version but now I feel like I just tossed away $20. Thanks for the input though.

Cheers
