Bookmarks, starting point

Howdy folks-
I'm new to Balabolka and loving it, except for two problems...
1] bookmarks don't seem to save, making them useless. How does one save them?
2] files (e.g. epub's, pdf's) always open at very start, only. How does one get them to re-open where one left off in previous session?
