I tried installing AVR Studio 5 after installing .Net Framework 4.0 and the installer aborted after failing to install a prerequisite item. That item was some Visual Studio 2010 isolation software and I have no idea what it's for.

The error message was that it couldn't copy a file which is a bit odd.
